About Liyag
Liyag is a poetic Tagalog word for a beloved. It is also a small, independent dating app built for Filipinos.
Who makes Liyag
Liyag is developed and operated by Sathish Nagaraj, an independent developer, who is also the personal information controller under the Philippine Data Privacy Act. There is no large company behind the app and no investor pushing for growth at any cost, which is why some choices here are slower or stricter than on bigger apps.
What we believe
- Show, don't promise. We say exactly what each safety feature does, including what it cannot do.
- Make fakes expensive. A phone check before anyone can message, one account per number, and a verification badge you can filter for.
- Respect the culture. Nine Philippine languages, all seventeen regions, religion as an optional field, and OFW as a real profile option.
- Let women set the pace. That is the idea behind Her Challenge.
Where Liyag is available
Liyag is on Android, through Google Play, for adults 18 and over. It is built for Filipinos in the Philippines and for Filipinos abroad.
